A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (B.A. in English) and Columbia University (M.S. in Journalism), Allison has worked as a writer and marketing professional since 1993 and as a full-time business owner with Get It In Writing, Inc. since 2001. Allison has worked, written and consulted for hundreds of publications and organizations, including Bloomberg News, J. Walter Thompson, Ruder-Finn, Business Wire and a wide range of health, financial and law professionals, women's organizations, service providers, communications companies and individuals. Allison, whose goal is to make copywriting instruction and DIY copywriting skills available to all businesspeople, maintains companion websites at DIYCopywriting.com and CopywritingforVAs.com. She is also a partner in the web’s premiere site for working moms: WorkingMomLifeline.com. Allison speaks and writes on a number of topics related to copywriting, marketing and working moms. Allison, who is based in Boca Raton, Florida, is a speed reader, wanna-be runner, foreign film enthusiast and sometime-people person. She is the founding leader of the Boca/Ft. Lauderdale (FL) chapter of Webgrrls, an international organization for women in business and technology. And in her “spare” time, Allison is writing a funny (yes, funny) memoir of growing up as the grandchild of Holocaust survivors. Allison is married and a devoted mom to her son and daughter. She believes that being an expert is not enough -- the key to success in business is to be a good person first, and everything else will fall into place. |
