Get It In Writing
Quick Tip:

Quick TipWhat is the basis for your success? You’d be surprised.

When it comes to hiring and deciding who to do business with and who to hire, do you know what managers look for first? Is it experience? Actually, no. Is it technical or other know-how? No to that as well.

Believe it or not, the skill that hiring managers and even potential clients are looking for is WRITING. According to one recent study, it’s writing, being able to communicate what you’re selling and what’s you’re offering in words that sets you apart. In other words (no pun intended!) it is words that, more than anything else, affect your success and the bottom line of your business. Now where have we heard that before?

Thank you to my dear friend, Shirit!

The Secrets of an Inspirational (In-Spirit) Life Last month, my dear friend Shirit gave me this CD set for my birthday. It really is amazing. I downloaded it to my iPod and allow myself to be inspired every morning on my daily walk. I am the personal development queen, yet I had never before experienced Wayne Dyer…until now!   Check it out here.

What do you like about your job or business?

I spent the first week of July in the mountains of North Carolina. It was an interesting experience – limited cell phone reception & Internet access, clear light air (I live in the jungle of South Florida) and actual topography (South Florida is pretty flat!). I was a little anxious being so cut off from technology and all that is familiar with me. Along with my husband and two kids, I was alone with….gasp…my thoughts!

Once I settled down, though, I was able to actually think and come to a lot of interesting conclusions, make some great plans and get really clear on a bunch of stuff that has been “stuck” in my brain for way too long.

One thing I realized, or admitted to myself finally, is that what I love about my business and about being an entrepreneur in the business of copywriting and marketing, is not the writing. That’s right, folks, I DON’T LOVE WRITING! What I do love, however, is being able to use and apply what I do and know best, the writing, to the businesses and dreams of others.

What I love is to grow other businesses using words. What an ‘AHA’ moment that was for me. I guess I needed the quiet mountain air to figure out what I already knew. How about you…any AHAs this summer? I’d love to hear about them!

Yours In Success,
