Get It In Writing
Quick Tip:

Quick TipBack it up and be realistic.
Don’t over-promise, over-hype or sugar-coat. Be honest in your marketing and you’re your marketing copy. Only claim what is true.

There is a school of thought out there that is all about using CAPITAL LETTERS and a whole lot of different punctuation!!!!!!!, but we believe in what sounds, reads and sells truthfully and even humbly.

Be real and give as much valuable information as you can: your clients will love you for it and your prospects will be all the more attracted to you and your products/services/expertise.

Recommends:

Just read an amazing book by the amazing Suze Orman. And don’t let the title fool you: Women & Money: Owning the Power to Control Your Destiny.

Women & MoneyI strongly urge all of you who are or know or love women out there, whether they are high-powered executives or stay-at-home moms or somewhere in-between, to buy this book and share it as much as possible.

I am thinking of buying it in bulk to give out as a present to people I know and care about in business and in my personal life – it’s that good, inspiring and useful!

Be careful what you wish for….
(Or, what happens when your blog goes viral)

What business these days doesn’t wish for increased attention, visits and traffic to their website(s)? At Get It In Writing, our goal has always been to increase our online visibility with visitors, clients and non-clients, throughout the world. Last week, Chris Tynski, our Internet Marketing guru, wrote a blog entry entitled “Amazing Advertisements” (see it here).

Chris posted it to a couple of well-known sites (most notably digg.com and reddit.com). About 3-4 hours later, it was official: Our Get It In Writing blog had gone “viral.” (By the way, in the world of search engines and web traffic, viral is a good thing.) Over the next few days, our website and blog were getting about 25,000-30,000 visits per day!

It was a heady few days and we were all very excited. That said, this wasn’t what we would consider highly-qualified traffic. In other words, the traffic came from people reading the blog entry and going on to the next exciting thing…it wasn’t for the most part from businesses and marketing people looking for copywriting services. We also had to quickly upgrade our web hosting plan so our website and server wouldn’t crash from all of the traffic. There were a few hours there where we didn’t quite know what would happen next.

What did I learn from this experience? Of course, being careful never hurts. More than that, though, it’s important to be ready to receive what you wish for…chances are you will actually get it, so be ready. There is almost nothing you can’t accomplish, so wish it, get set and then ENJOY.

Yours In Success,

Allison
